YMCA Bath afterschool club: Monday to Friday from 2.45 to 6.00pm: 16.25 hours/week

What does the job involve?

We are seeking a fun and energetic person who will work well within our team and build a trusting and supportive relationships with children ranging from 4 -11 years.

Skills required;

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work within a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities/SENCO etc.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be passionate about working with children.
  • Experience of planning activities for children.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Play worker qualification would be desirable

Duties include assisting cook with pre ordered cooked breakfast and evening meals.

Replenishing breakfast items for guests during the service.

Washing up (using a dishwasher)

Location: Bath

Working hours: 31.25 hours over a 6 week rolling rota, which would include weekends.

The role would include managing and working as part of the reception team to create a warming and welcoming atmosphere for the hostel guests and residents. To promote the hostel for groups and visitors to Bath with a positive vision.

Excellent IT skills and customer service are required.

To work closely with the catering, housekeeping and maintenance department.

Previous experience of working in a hostel and/or hotel environment would be an advantage.

Location: Trowbridge

Full Time: 35 hours per week all year round

Salary: £8.72 per hour                                                                        

What does the job involve?

An experienced Early years Practitioner is required to work at YMCA Bath- Little Shoots nursery. Applicants with a minimum of NVQ level 3 in childcare.

You will be required to work with key children in the preschool age group, be passionate about working in childcare, work well within a team and develop excellent relationships with parents as well as having a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum.

Skills required;

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities/SENCO etc.
  • Good knowledge of EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills

Key responsibilities;

  • To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
  • To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times
  • To ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
  • To plan, prepare and review the curriculum with the team reflective of the EYFS
  • To work in partnership with the parents and provide good customer service
  • To ensure confidentiality at all times
  • To provide support to children with challenging behaviour
  • An understanding of and respect for diversity in terms of the makeup of the family, racial origin and cultural beliefs
  • Ability to assess situations and seek advice and support if required
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure or in a crisis or emergency
  • Understanding of the potential physical and emotional pressures of working with children with challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of the need for safeguarding
