We believe that every young person should have a safe place to stay.
Nightstop offers emergency temporary accommodation for 16-25’s by providing a safe, supportive bed for the night in the home of a host volunteer. Here, a young person in need of emergency accommodation will get a room of their own, an evening meal, breakfast, access to wash facilities and a friendly host.
Our staff assist the young person as they explore their housing options or support them to return to the family home. A young person can stay for 1 to 7 nights giving themselves and partner agencies the opportunity to look for appropriate housing.
Nightstop might be able to help you. You can stay in Nightstop for up 7 nights (as long as we have hosts available) while we help you to look for somewhere to live longer term.
Nightstop accepts people who are between 16-25yrs and have nowhere to stay.
Unfortunately Nightstop cannot offer you accommodation if you are under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances or you have acute mental health issues and/or violent or aggressive behaviour.
We cannot accept someone absconding from custody and/or care.
To be able to offer this invaluable service to young people we need hosts. Hosts receive reimbursement for their expenses. If you can offer a room to a young person and are interested in becoming a host please contact us for an information pack or informal chat.
The first Nightstop was established in 1987 in Leeds and there are currently local Nightstop services in all of the nine government regions of England and in some regions of Scotland and Wales. Nightstop Bath is affiliated with DePaul Nightstop UK who support us by sharing their expertise.
